Hindu Munnani leader Ramagopalan called upon the State to constitute an anti-terrorism squad at Tirupur in the wake of some reports on the threat to attack some Hindu leaders in Tirupur and nearby areas.

“Prevention of attacks on the leaders by nabbing the terrorists in advance is more important. In the murders of BJP leader Ramesh and Hindu Munnani state secretary S. Vellaiyappan, the police could not protect them despite threats,” he told media persons here on Sunday.

Mr. Ramagopalan was critical of the attempts by government machinery to take over the control of many temples owned by private parties in the State.
