Fire in goods train coach  

A coal-laden coach in a Kolkata-bound goods train was gutted at Nidubrolu station on Thursday.

Fire broke out purportedly due to electrical short circuit and the exact cause is being investigated. Train services on Vijayawada-Chennai line were disrupted for some time.

The fire was put out after the coach was separated from the train. The officials heaved a sigh of relief as the fire could be contained before it spread to the adjoining coaches.

Nidubrolu station falls in the purview of Vijayawada division of South Central Railway.
