The first of the three fast track courts to be set up in the State to deal with crimes against will be inaugurated by the Chief Justice of India on January 27, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has said.

He was speaking after inaugurating the first Nirbhaya Shelter Home in the State, here, on Wednesday. “The shelter home stands as a message that Kerala is willing to assume responsibility for the pain and suffering of victims of abuse and attacks,” he said.

In his address, Minister for Social Welfare M.K. Muneer said a new shelter home would be set up in Thiruvananthapuram in association with the district panchayat.
