CHANDIGARH: The fifth mega IT event eRevolution-2009 concluded here over the weekend with many successful business icons inspiring local entrepreneurs on the theme of “Building Eco-system for Entrepreneurship” spearheaded by Indian Angels Network and TiE Chandigarh-Punjab.

Sridhar Iyengar, Global Head of TiE, Silicon Valley, U.S., and Partner, Bessemer Venture Partners, advised the entrepreneurs to focus on opportunities and not threats in these times of financial turbulence, adding that some of the world’s best companies were founded during difficult times.

He suggested the need to recheck and revalidate one’s fundamentals.

Sanjeev Bhikchandani of naukri.com fame added that it was time to “work hard, work smart and get lucky.”

Excel through quality

Sunil Kant Munjal, Chairman of Hero Corporate Services, met the members of TiE Chandigarh-Punjab who emphasised the need for the entrepreneurs to excel through quality and meeting the customer expectations, which was a challenge in a highly diverse market such as India.

He asked the business people to sensitise their employees towards customers by making them realise that it was not the company which paid them their salary. Rather, it was their customers.
