Eight members of a fake naxal gang were arrested by Edulla Bayyaram police at Janampeta village in Pinapaka mandal on Friday night.

According to police sources, eight members of the pseudo-naxal gang including the warden of a Kothagudem-based private hostel were nabbed by a special team personnel patrolling near Janampeta late on Friday night.

About Rs. 1.30 lakh cash, two motorcycles, two toy pistols and four cell phones were recovered from their possession. The members of the gang headed by one Ramakrishna of Warangal district allegedly committed robbery at Janampeta recently. They were also involved in several cases of extortion.
