: Activists of the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) and the Students Federation of India (SFI) began an indefinite round-the-clock sit-in in front of the office of the Inspector General of Police (Kannur Range) here on Friday in protest against the alleged move of the police to take action against DYFI and SFI activists under the Kerala Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act 2007.

SFI and DYFI leaders said show-cause notice had been served on three activists asking to explain why action should not be taken against them under the Act. They said the activists included DYFI leader and District Sports Council president O.K. Vineesh and SFI central committee member M. Shajar.
