Authorities in Surat have made a magnificent miniature replica of Taj Mahal adorning it with diamonds and gold. It will be auctioned for charity.
“The diamonds in the replica of the Taj Mahal have been sponsored by a Thailand-based company. Fifty thousand diamonds have been used in the making of this miniature. Gold, silver, plywood, and plaster of Paris have also been used,” said Rajiv Joshi, a diamond trader.
The replica has been put on display. It is plated with more than 20 kilograms of silver and one-and-a-half kilograms of gold. The 8-feet high miniature has been valued at millions of rupees and a businessman has offered to buy it for over Rs 10 million. The fund collected from the auction will be used for a charitable cause.
