The former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda said here on Friday that he would make efforts to get a Central University for Hassan. He was speaking after inaugurating a new building of Sanjeevini Cooperative Hospital in K.R. Puram here.

“Land was notified and acquired in 2004 for an Indian Institute of Technology on the outskirts of Hassan. However, the proposed IIT was shifted to a different location. My dream is to get a Central University sanctioned to Hassan. I will make all efforts to fulfil my dream,” he said. He lauded the efforts of the Sanjeevini Cooperative Hospital’s governing body for providing quality health service to the people at affordable prices.

The hospital was the result of hard work and dedication of doctors who are committed to serving the people. “I appreciate A.C. Munivenkate Gowda and Gururaj Hebbar, founders of the hospital, for their efforts,” he said. He assured the institute of his support for its pro-people programmes.
