A 32-year-old Dalit woman and mother of four was gang-raped in a remote village Ghodadanda in this district of Odisha. The police have detained two persons in connection with the March 19 crime, after the victim lodged a complaint on Wednesday night.
Superintendent of Police Sarthak Sadangi said the woman’s 10-year-old daughter, who was an eyewitness to the incident according to the FIR, could not be traced.
According to the complaint, the victim and her family, tenant farmers, had been staying in a thatched house provided by the landowner, who was named one of the accused. Cases have been registered against the two accused. — PTI
