The Kerala State Institute of Children’s Literature has announced the children’s literature awards for 2012.

Minister for Culture K.C. Joseph announced the awards here on Friday.

P.P. Ramachandran’s Pathalam wins the award in the story/novel section and Rapaadi by Ambalapuzha Gopakumar, the award in the poetry section.

Abdulla Paleri’s book Varu Namukku Poompattakale Nireekshikkam got the award in the science category.

The award for the scholarly literature section went to Kuttipattalathinte Kerala Paryadanam written by N.P. Hafiz Mohammed and the biography award for M.K. Sanu’s book on Sree Narayana Guru.

The translation award was won by the novel Gosai Parambile Bhotham by Bhavani Cheerath- Rajagopalan.

The award for illustration went to T.R. Rajesh for his works in Kottiyum Kothukum Maramkothiyum Uppu Vitta Katha .

The award for pictures in the picture book category went to Jayendran for the book Kuttikalkulla 21 Nadan Pattukal .

The award for design was won by P.Pradeeep for his work in the book Manathe Kazhchakal . The awards comprise Rs.10,000, citation and statuette.
