AHMEDABAD: About 60 child labourers, rescued from various textile mills in Surat, were sent to their home State, Bihar, by train here on Tuesday.

The rescued children would be handed over to the Bihar child welfare department officials in Patna.

They were rescued in a joint operation by the child welfare and the labour departments. The government has rescued 1,500 child labourers from Surat alone.
