Describing the allegations against the former Haryana Director-General of Police S.P.S. Rathore in December last as “unfounded and baseless”, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday filed closure reports in two cases at a special CBI court in Ambala.

The cases go back to 1990, when a teenage tennis player was allegedly molested by Rathore. The girl committed suicide after three years. Last December, the complaints filed by her family were accepted as first information reports and cases were filed against Rathore under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.

Rathore has been serving a 18-month sentence in a Haryana prison since May this year.
