NEW DELHI: Cabinet Secretary K.M. Chandrasekhar will talk to all State Chief Secretaries on March 27 through video conferencing to ensure that the fiscal and other measures contained in the Centre’s stimulus packages are implemented and their benefits percolate down to the grass roots.

“It is now a matter of micro management,” Commerce Secretary, G.K. Pillai said here. “The economy has a very resilient system and there is a huge domestic demand. No doubt, the situation is very difficult and things are going to be very tight during the next 3-6 months. But we must ensure that the benefits of the two stimulus packages and the concessions announced by the Finance Minister in Parliament reach those very sections for which they are meant.”

The Centre had released nearly Rs. 1450 crore to the State Governments for buying commercial vehicles. Placing orders for 14,000 buses would give an big impetus to the commercial vehicle segment.
