A Canadian national was asked to leave India after she visited an arrested person alleged to have links with the ISI at a jail in West Bengal’s Darjeeling district, police said on Thursday.

“Natasha Singh, a Canadian national who lives in the United States of America, had visited the person in the jail. The Foreigner’s Registration Office of Darjeeling asked her to leave the country on Tuesday evening,” Darjeeling SP Kunal Agarwal told The Hindu over telephone.

Subsequently she left the country.

According to the police, Ms. Singh had violated her tourist visa conditions. – Staff Reporter
