An agreement in this regard will be signed in Bhopal in a month or two

Central Arecanut and Cocoa Marketing and Processing Cooperative (CAMPCO) Ltd. will sell its chocolates in milk parlours of Madhya Pradesh State Cooperative Dairy Federation Ltd. from June, according to Konkodi Padmanabha, president, CAMPCO.

Addressing a joint press conference with Subhash Mandge, chairman, Madhya Pradesh State Cooperative Dairy Federation Ltd. here on Monday, Mr. Padmanabha said that heads of both the cooperatives would sign an agreement to this effect in Bhopal next month or the first week of June. Chief Ministers of Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh are expected to be present at the function.

Mr. Mandge said that Madhya Pradesh State Cooperative Dairy Federation Ltd. sells its milk products under the brand name Sanchi and there are 397 Sanchi parlours in Madhya Pradesh.

Managing Director of CAMPCO M. Suresh Bhandary said they were expecting to sell CAMPCO chocolates worth Rs. 8 lakh to Rs. 10 lakh a month to Sanchi parlours.

Mr. Padmanabha said that CAMPCO was also making efforts to sell its chocolates through Sudha milk parlours of Bihar State Cooperative Milk Producers' Federation. There are plans to export CAMPCO chocolates to Bangladesh, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and Pakistan.

At present CAMPCO chocolates are sold at select Nandini milk parlours in Karnataka and Milma milk parlours of the Kerala Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd.

Mr. Padmanabha said that CAMPCO manufactured 16,000 tonnes of chocolates worth Rs. 160 crore at its factory at Puttur in Dakshina Kannada during 2011-12.

He said that CAMPCO exported chocolates worth Rs. 500 lakh to Nepal during 2011-12 and exported cocoa products (industrial chocolates) worth Rs. 360 lakh to African countries during the period.

Mr. Padmanabha said that CAMPCO had planned to increase the production capacity of its factory by investing Rs. 21 crore.

It had set up wind power generation units at Hoovinahadagali and Chikkodi so that it could become self-reliant on electricity front.
