Business school admissions open

The International School of Business and Media, Gurgaon, has announced admissions to its two-year post-graduate diploma in management programme in Marketing, Finance, Insurance and Risk Management and Human Resource.

A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university with a minimum of 50 per cent marks in the aggregate is the eligibility to apply. Candidates appearing for their final year examinations can also apply, provided they complete all their formalities by September 30, 2013. Scores of entrance tests like CAT, XAT, MAT, ATMA and JET will also be considered. The last date for applying is February 10.

Loughborough University, U.K., has invited applications for its undergraduate programme in Graphic Communication and Illustration.

The three-year programme has been designed with the aim of enabling students to explore the fundamentals of Graphic Communication and Illustration. It is also aimed to equip students with creative idea-generating and visualisation skills and exploring the right approach to connect with different markets.

In the second and third year, the students will also get to spend an optional year taking an industrial training placement, leading to the supplementary award of a Diploma in Professional Studies or a foreign university placement, leading to a Diploma in International Studies.

Applications must be made through the “Universities and Colleges Admissions Service” (UCAS). The programme starts in September and the last date for applying is January 15.

A host of new initiatives have been planned by Jamia Millia Islamia’s placement cell to achieve its ambitions plans of 100 per cent placements on campus. A web management system to provide a platform for industry professionals and students to interact is one of the first things on the list as well as making the training and placement process go online.

Other plans include an online assessment system along with a question-based test to start online evaluation with inputs from professionals from the industry, an industry-institute interaction cell, an innovation and incubation centre, an entrepreneurship development cell and a tie-up with companies for minor and major projects.
