A four-year-old boy, who was allegedly kidnapped by the newly-hired domestic help and her husband from a flat here on Tuesday, was rescued and his two abductors were nabbed by the police following a dramatic chase in neighbouring Palwal. The two accused had beaten up, robbed and tied the child’s mother before kidnapping him.

The husband-wife duo had fled in the family’s car after committing the crime. The victim’s father, Bhavishya Sharma, runs a consultancy firm. The boy, along with his mother, was at their flat in Eldeco Mansionz apartments when the family’s domestic help Puja and her husband Devi Lal entered the house and started beating up the woman. The two then tied up the woman and escaped in the family’s car along with the boy. They also robbed the woman of two gold rings and Rs.1,500. The woman, however, managed to untie herself and alerted her neighbours. She then made a call to the Police Control Room.

“On reaching the flat, we managed to procure the mobile number of the accused and put it under electronic surveillance. The police in the neighbouring districts were alerted and the duo was arrested at Palwal. The boy was safely rescued,” said a senior police officer.

Gurgaon Police Commissioner Alok Mittal himself monitored the rescue operation. Puja was hired by the family just four days ago.
