Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan's health is showing signs of improvement and no new procedure have yet been suggested for him, the hospital authorities said on Monday. “Mr. Bachchan is getting better and better after his surgery. There is no new procedure planned for him. He is doing very well,” a hospital spokesperson told The Hindu on the phone.

However, the hospital said there was no word yet on when the superstar might be discharged.

In his tweets Mr. Bachchan has on Monday reported on his improving condition. “A better day…dressings removed, more normal food intake, lesser 'kites' and greater visitors..” and “Hunger pangs swell for the first time..docs say its good sign..hope so…”. In an earlier tweet, he reported: “Some reports that were at alarming levels have shown improvement.”

The 69-year-old star also watched the India-Australia match. Mr. Bachchan, who was admitted to a private hospital after he complained of abdominal pain, underwent surgery on February 11.
