The District Consultative Committee (DCC) for Banking Development has decided to conduct three special educational loan disbursal campaigns in the district and gave directions to banks to issue educational loans on priority basis as per guidelines fixed by Indian Bank’s Association (IBA).

These steps were part of efforts to bring down the complaints pertaining to delays in sanctioning of loan and its disbursal. Lead District Manager R. Rajagopal told The Hindu that the three special educational loan camps were planned at the rate of one in each of three revenue divisional headquarters at Tirupur, Dharapuram and Udumalpet. The DCC for Banking Development instructed the banks that the latest available IBA guidelines should be compulsorily followed during the processing of loan applications as well as while disbursing the amount to needy students.
