India has said there are disturbing trends being uncovered in the enquiry into the recent killing of author, Sushmita Banerjee, in Afghanistan. Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson, Syed Akbaruddin, told reporters that Afghan officials have indicated that those involved seemed to be what they described as ‘Pakistan Taliban’, based in ‘areas beyond Afghanistan’s borders’. While India has left the case in the hands of the investigating officers, it is following it with ‘laser-like precision’, the official said. — Special Correspondent
