NAGPUR: Arun Narayan Dekate (30), correspondent of Marathi daily Tarun Bharat, here died on Saturday of the injuries he sustained in an attack on him by four persons at Wakeshwar turning point near Dongrgaon on Wardha road on Thursday.

Police said on Sunday that Mr. Dekate, who was working as a rural correspondent at Takalghat village for the daily, was attacked with stones on Thursday night when he was on his way back home along with a friend on a motorcycle.

He was admitted to hospital with severe injuries.

Mr. Dekate, had recently exposed a gambling racket in and around Takalghat, where he was staying.


He had also given a tip-off to the Bori police about `Satta' kingpin Dhampal Bhagat, resulting in the arrest of his men.

Police have launched a manhunt to nab the culprits.
