For ensuring better coordination among Central security forces

Patna: The Bihar Government is planning to set up a special cell in its police headquarters for ensuring better coordination among the central security forces, district police personnel and intelligence agencies to intensify its operations against Naxalites.

“At present, there is a team of police officials at the police headquarters to monitor operations against Naxalites but a special cell is necessary due to the increasing pressure from the Centre to effectively deal with the Naxal menace”, official sources said.

“The officials in the cell will strive for ensuring better coordination with intelligence agencies and compile authentic information about the activities of the ultras”, the sources said.

This will come in handy in carrying out operations against the ultras, the sources said. The Centre has in its directive to the states stressed the need for strategic deployment of central para-military force personnel in the Naxal-affected districts for carrying out operations against the ultras and strengthen coordination among the intelligence agencies and security forces, they said.- PTI
