Pinarayi Vijayan, State secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), has said that it is high time the Communist Party of India stops taunting the CPI(M) citing “politics of murder.”

Addressing a public meeting organised by the Kerala State Karshaka Thozhilali Union at Kadavur near here on Sunday night, Mr. Vijayan said that in the past, activists of the CPI had murdered CPI(M) workers.

“CPI(M) activists Balakrishnan and Sudheendran were killed by CPI men in Alappuzha. Does the CPI leader who now vows that his party is against the politics of murder remember those murders?” Mr. Vijayan asked.

He alleged that CPI had also killed CPI(M) leader Subramanyan at Anthikkad in Thrissur.

The CPI even attempted to murder Vaikom Viswan, the present LDF convener, he alleged.

Chennithala plea

Staff Reporter adds from Thrissur:

The CPI should reconsider whether it should continue in the Left Democratic Front (LDF), playing second fiddle to the CPI(M), KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala has said.

Ay a KSU study camp at Peechi on Sunday, he said the CPI(M) had been criticising the CPI for not supporting its politics of violence.
