3 killed as car hits parked lorry

Three members of a family from Suryapet travelling in a car from Vijayawada to Hyderabad -- Narendruni Ramesh (50), his wife N. Sridevi and daughter Anusha (23) were killed on the spot when the vehicle hit a parked lorry in Chivemula police limits in the small hours of Friday. Anil (21), son of Ramesh, who was a businessman, escaped with minor injuries.

According to R. Srinivas Reddy, Suryapet Rural Circle Inspector, who is investigating the case, the accident at around 1 a.m. when the car hit the lorry on its rear side, which was parked at the roadside following a tyre burst.

Policed conducted the post-mortem at the Suryapet area hospital and handed over the bodies to relatives.
