A court here on Wednesday extended till July 4 the judicial custody of gangster Vijay Palande, his model wife Simran Sood and two associates for their alleged complicity in the murder of Delhi-based businessman Arun Tikku, 67, and aspiring film producer Karan Kakkad.
The accused were produced before the court of a Metropolitan Magistrate here through video-conference.
Palande was first arrested for Tikku’s murder on April 10. Tikku was killed in his house by Palande’s alleged associates Manoj Gajkosh and Dhanjay Shinde, whose judicial remand was also extended.
Tikku owned some flats in a building near Lokhandwala complex. Palande allegedly wanted to usurp Tikku’s properties and had therefore allegedly conspired to kill him.
During interrogation, Palande purportedly admitted having killed Kakkad and dumping his body in a forest in Ratnagiri district. — PTI
