Jagan silent on freezing of Sakshi accounts

YSR Congress Party president Y.S.Jaganmohan Reddy on Wednesday accused the government of resorting to ulterior moves to counter the popularity of his party and the support they enjoyed in the public.

Speaking at the road show held in the villages of the Bommanahal mandal of the Rayadurgam Assembly constituency in Anantapur district, Mr. Jagan, who was expected to go on an offensive mode over the ruling party and the TDP, remained tight-lipped about the freezing of the accounts of the Sakshi daily and news channel.

Nonetheless, the YSR Congress party cadre kept on shouting slogans against the government even as they hailed Jagan for touring unperturbed. Mr. Jagan managed to pull good crowds at all villages during the second consecutive day of the campaigning in the Rayadurgam constituency.

Jagan, who was accompanied by senior YSR party district leader Y.Visvesvar Reddy and Rayadurgam candidate Kapu Ramachandra Reddy, accused the current dispensation in the State of a conscious effort to malign his father Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy and added that the present government headed by Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy was purposefully watering down the schemes introduced by YSR.

“Sonia Gandhi is remote-controlling the government in the State from Delhi,” he accused the AICC president even as he said that the State government and the Chief Minister by himself was not empowered to take any decision even if it meant benefit to the people of the State.

Appealing to the people to vote for the YSR party's candidate Kapu Ramachandra Reddy, he asked them to teach the Congress party and the TDP a fitting lesson. He also promised them a return of what he called the golden age when Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy was the Chief Minister.
