KOLKATA: Even as West Bengal Chief Secretary Ashok Mohan Chakraborty said the State government was keen on restoring normality at Khejuri, Home Secretary Ardhendu Sen said on Saturday that boycotting the law and order machinery was like boycotting the government and the administration.

Talking to journalists at the State secretariat here, Mr. Chakraborty said, “The government is keen to normalise as soon as possible the situation arising out of the blockade and boycott of the Khejuri police station.”

Efforts were being made to restore the telephone connections and the water supply lines which had been snapped by the agitators, he said, adding that the police were there to protect the common people. If they had done any wrong, complaints must be given to higher officials. “Boycott is not the right way out.”
