Meerut: Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Mahendra Singh Tikait, who has been in judicial custody for about a month now for preventing police from discharging their duty about eighteen years back, was released on Tuesady after the charge against him could not be proved in the court.

Following the judgement of Baghpat chief judicial magistrate on Monday, the BKU leader along with three others - Mange Ram, Manoj and Joginder - have been released, Mr. Tikait’s counsel Vijay Pal Singh Tomar said. PTI
