NEW DELHI: Senior BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu maintained that a transfer of power from the Janata Dal (Secular) to his party in Karnataka would definitely take place. The “irritants” that had cropped up in their relationship would be sorted out.

Noting that the BJP had complied with the agreement reached at the time of the formation of the State government on February 3 last, he expressed the confidence that the JD(S) would reciprocate.

“It [the agreement] is a solemn assurance given before the people. The BJP has complied with its part, and I am sure JD(S) will also do so,” he told journalists here. On the controversy over the filing of a complaint against Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy by a BJP Minister, Mr. Naidu said, “There are some irritants in the relationship, and they need to be sorted out.”
