New Delhi: India’s Ambassador to the United States Ronen Sen maybe called before the Lok Sabha Privileges Committee for his controversial remarks concerning the nuclear deal with Washington, according to sources.
The sources said Mr. Chatterjee had referred the issue to the committee after receiving a reply from the Ministry of External Affairs.
The headed is headed by Congress Member of Parliament V. Kishorechandra Suryanarayan Deo.
The committee is likely to call the MPs, who had given the notice of privilege motion against Mr. Sen and probably the representatives of the media which had published the remarks.
Mr. Sen had termed those commenting against the deal “headless chickens.”
However, when the issue was raised in Parliament, Mr. Sen said he made the remarks against his media friends and not against MPs and offered unconditional apology to them if it had hurt their feelings. — PTI
