CHENNAI: Tarun Vijay, Chief Editor of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh organ Panchjanya, has joined the Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee Reaserch Foundation, the BJP’s newly created think tank, as its Director. He joined Panchjanya in 1979 as Chief Editor.
Mr.Vijay has been inducted as a special invitee to the national executive of the BJP also. He has been asked to create the think tank on the ideological lines of nationalism –‘uncompromising, all-inclusive and unapologetic’ as Mr. Vijay said.
Author of more than 20 books, including ‘Saffron Surge,’ Mr.Vijay was also member of the India-China Eminent Persons Group that paved the way for better cooperation between the two countries. He conceptualised the Indus Festival on the banks of the Indus in Ladakh and led India’s first Indus expedition from Demchhok to Batalik.
A farewell is scheduled in the RSS headquarters for Mr. Vijay on February 25.
