The funeral of Archbishop Ambrose Madtha, a native of Belthangady in Dakshina Kannada and who was the Papal Nuncio (Representative) to Ivory Coast, will be held at Redeemer Church, Belthangady, on Saturday at 10 a.m., according to Bishop of Mangalore Diocese Aloysius Paul D’Souza.
Archbishop Madtha died in a road accident in Ivory Coast on December 8.
Fr. D’Souza told journalists here on Thursday that the Archbishop’s body would arrive at the Mangalore International Airport at 10 a.m. on Friday from Abidjan in Ivory Coast by a special flight.
The body would be kept at Rosario Cathedral, Pandeshwar, on Friday to enable people to pay their last respects. A special mass would be held at the cathedral at 4 p.m.
