``Indian Airforce adopted a casual approach to my allegations''

NEW DELHI: Dismissed Indian Air Force flying officer Anjali Gupta on Monday approached the National Commission for Women (NCW) seeking a fresh probe into her case in accordance with Supreme Court guidelines.

Ms. Gupta (29), who was dismissed on December 8 last after a General Court Martial found her guilty of insubordination and irregularity, claimed that the court's `Vishakha' guidelines dealing with sexual harassment at workplace were not followed in the enquiry.

Donning her uniform, Ms. Gupta submitted a memorandum to NCW chairperson Girija Vyas here.

She told reporters that the NCW chairperson assured her that she would seek a report on the probe conducted by the Karnataka State Human Rights Commission and the Air Force.

Ms. Gupta said the IAF adopted a casual approach to her allegations that she had been sexually harassed by some seniors.
