The printer, publisher and reporter of Tamil weekly Ananda Vikatan on Wednesday appeared before the Principal Sessions Court in connection with defamation cases filed against them by the State government.

Last month, two defamation complaints were filed by the State government against the weekly for publishing an article which allegedly defamed two of Ministers — N.R. Sivapathy, Minister for Education, Sports, and Youth Welfare and K.T. Pachamal, Minister for Forests. Principal Sessions Judge P.Kalaiyarasan, after recording their presence, adjourned the case to December 10.
