Former Union Chemicals and Fertilizers Minister M.K. Alagiri on Friday deposed before the Madras High Court that it was false to say that he had bribed voters during the parliamentary elections in 2009.

When an election petition filed against him came up before Justice V. Dhanapalan, Mr. Alagiri said the allegation in the petition that through his agents he had given money to voters was false.

He did not know anything about distribution of money to voters through two vehicles.

Recording of evidence would continue on June 7.
