The Government Railway Police, Chittoor, is yet to make a headway in the case involving the alleged attack on a CRPF inspector on the New Delhi-bound Kerala Express on October 30 night.

Two ticket collectors and a passenger were accused of assaulting the CRPF inspector who later died while undergoing treatment in a hospital in Chennai.

A team of GRP personnel camping in Kerala are yet to trace the accused. Involvement of three Railway Protection Force personnel is currently under probe. Sources told The Hindu that the Chittoor team, right from the time they landed in Kerala, faced opposition from their counterparts for arriving without warrants. An official who is monitoring the investigation, said that the whereabouts of the TCs and the passenger who was involved in the attack is not known.

The RPF sources blamed the GR Police for inordinately delaying the filing of cases against the accused. Meanwhile, a team of advocates from Kerala visited Chittoor station on Tuesday reportedly to seek anticipatory bail for the ticket collectors.
