Three former ministers of Tripura, including the State’s first woman minister, have been admitted to the government G.B. Hospital here for various problems..

Dipak Roy, who briefly served in the erstwhile Congress-led alliance government, fell sick on Tuesday during a protest with other Congress leaders outside the residence of Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, demanding a CBI probe into murder of three employees of local vernacular daily Dainik Ganadoot on May 19.

Basana Chakraborty (84), Minister for Social Welfare and Social Education between 1972 and 1977, was admitted to the hospital on Sunday with a head injury she suffered after a fall at her home here.

She was the first woman member of the Council of Ministers headed by Sukhamoy Sengupta after Tripura attained statehood in 1972.

Anil Sarkar, veteran communist and minister in all Left Front governments since 1978, was admitted to the hospital on Monday for a health complaint.
