Fourteen people were injured when a portion of the women’s ward at the Kasturba Hospital collapsed here on Friday evening. The injured included patients, who were trapped under the debris. There are no reports of any death so far, officials said.
“I am confident that nobody lost their lives and all 14 of them have been rescued and were admitted in another wing of the same hospital,” S.R. Prasad, executive director of the Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (BHEL), which runs the hospital, said.
He said some tiling work was going on in the nearly 50-year-old building at the time of the collapse.
Shivraj Singh Chouhan, State Chief Minister announced an ex-gratia of Rs. 50,000 the injured, official sources said. — PTI
