Rainfall

The axis of Monsoon trough at Sea level chart passes through Ferozepur, Muzaffarnagar, Kanpur and thence southeast-wards. 

RAINFALL: Rain/thundershowers have occurred at few places over Himachal Pradesh, east Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand and at isolated places over Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab. Weather was mainly dry over rest of the region.

The chief amounts of rainfall in cm are: (3 cm and above) HARYANA: Chandigarh Airport 3, HIMACHAL PRADESH: JNagrota Surian 8, baijnath and Gohar 5 each, Sujanpur Tira and Mandi 4 each and Dehra Gopipur, Dhramsala and Guler 3 each, PUNJAB: Ropar 9 and Phangota and R.S.Dam Site 5 each, EAST RAJASTHAN: Bari and Choti Sadri 10 each, Anta, Baseri and Mandrayal 8 each, Sangod and Vallabhnagar 7 each, Sarmathura, Dug and Khandpur 6 each, Jhalawar and Pirawa 5 each, Bharatpur tehsil, Rupwas, Rajakhera, Sapau and Jhalarapatan 4 each and Aklera, Bari Sadri, Lalsot and Tonk tehsil 3 each, EAST UTTAR PRADESH: Mankapur 11, Sitapur and Kaiserganj 8 each, Kanpur tehsil and Birdghat 7 each, Rai Bareily, Palliakalan and Tarabganj 4 each and Ghatampur, Lucknow and Elginbridge 3 each, WEST UTTAR PRADESH: Mathura 9, Amroha 7 and Orai 5 and UTTARAKHAND: Bambasa 7, Kotdwara 5 and Munsiyari 4.

.    FORECAST VALID UNTIL THE MORNING OF 21st July 2013 : Rain/thundershowers may occur at many places over Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu divisions of Jammu and Kashmir and east Rajasthan. Rain/thundershowers may occur at many places over Haryana and remaining parts of Jammu and Kashmir during next 48 hours and decrease thereafter. Rain/thundershowers may occur at a few places over rest of the region.

HEAVY RAINFALL WARNING: Heavy rainfall may occur at one or two places over Uttarakhand and west Uttar Pradesh on 19th and 20th July. Heavy to very heavy rainfall may occur at one or two places over Uttarakhand and west Uttar Pradesh on 20th . Heavy rainfall may occur at one or two places over Himachal Pradesh on 20th and 21st July and over Haryana on 20th July.

FORECAST FOR DELHI AND NEIGHBOURHOOD VALID UNTIL THE MORNING OF 21st July 2013: Generally cloudy sky. Rain/thundershowers would occur in some areas.
