Isolated rainfall in Tamil NaduCHENNAI: Southwest monsoon has been active over coastal and south interior Karnataka.

Rainfall occurred at most places over Lakshadweep and coastal Karnataka, at many places over south interior Karnataka and at a few places over north interior Karnataka and Kerala. Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema and Telangana and mainly dry weather prevailed over coastal Andhra Pradesh.

The following stations recorded very heavy to heavy rainfall in centimeters:- Bhatkal (Uttara Kannada dt.) 18, Mangalore Airport 11, Panambur 9, Gerusoppa (Uttara Kannada dt.) and Mudigere (Chikmagalur dt.) 7 each.

The other chief amounts of rainfall recorded in cms are: Mangalore 6, Bantwal and Dharmasthala (both Dakshin Kannada dt.), Karkala (Udipi dt.), Belgaum and Londa (Belgaum dt.) 5 each, Belthangadi, Mulki, Puttur and Subramanya (all Dakshina Kannada dt.), Ankola, Kumta and Siddapura (all Uttara Kannada dt.), Shirali, Medikeri and Agumbe 4 each, Mani (Dakshina Kannada dt.), Udupi, Honavar, Linganamakki, Sagar and Talaguppa (all Shimoga dt.), Sringeri (Chikmagalur dt.) and Sakleshpura (Hassan dt.) 3 each.

Forecast (valid until Monday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places over coastal Karnataka, south interior Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep and at a few places over north interior Karnataka. Isolated rain or thundershowers are also likely to occur over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and Andhra Pradesh.
