Rain likely in Tamil Nadu
CHENNAI: Rainfall occurred at most places over Kerala and Lakshadweep and at a few places over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, coastal and south interior Karnataka. Isolated rainfall occurred over Telangana, north interior Karnataka.
The following stations recorded very heavy-to-heavy rainfall in cm:-
Agathi Airport 14, Polur (Tiruvannamalai dt) and Aminidivi 10 each, Venkatagirikota (Chittoor dt) and Kavarathi 9 each, Tiruvannamalai, Yercaud, Bangalore and Alapuzha 8 each and Ambur (Vellore dt), Omalur (Salem dt) and Kuppam (Chittoor dt) 7 each.
The other chief amounts of rainfall recorded in cm are:- Arani (Tiruvannamalai dt), Kallakurichi (Villupuram dt) 6 each,Hindupur (Ananthapur dt), Kottayam, Thiruvananthapuram and Neyyatinkara (Thiruvananthapuram dt) 5 each.
FORECAST (valid until Sunday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at most places over coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep, at many places over south interior Karnataka and at a few places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Andhra Pradesh and north interior Karnataka.
Heavy Rainfall Warning: Isolated heavy rain is likely to occur over coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Lakshadweep and ghat areas of South interior Karnataka during the next 48 hours.
