Rich tributes were paid to late T.S.Parthasarathy, senior advocate from Thanjavur, at a function here on Saturday. G.M.Akbar Ali, Judge, Madras High Court, unveiled a portrait of T.S.Parthasarathy. T.S.Parathasarathy was the son of T.K.Srinivasa Iyengar, an eminent lawyer, and was a junior of Jagathratchaka Iyengar.
Mr. Akbar Ali said Partharasarthy was good at handling both civil and criminal cases, and his English was ‘Shakespearean’. His dress code attracted all and commanded respect. He also encouraged juniors, said Mr. Akbar Ali, who hails from Vallam near Thanjavur, and quoted from his own experience as how Parthasarathy allowed him to argue a case when he approached him for a solution to a case.
V.S.Ramalingam, senior advocate, said Parthasarathy was good in food adulteration cases . Senior advocate V.Rajappa highlighted Parthasarathy’s other side as a philanthropist while V.Chandrasekar, an advocate, said that the sense of humour and meticulous preparation of cases by Parthasarathy should be followed by every one in legal profession
Senior advocates .R.Perumal, V.Rajappa, G.Anbarasan, R.Sivasubramanian and S.Jayachandran spoke. M.Nazeer Ahmed, First Additional District Judge, presided over the function. P.R.Rajendran, president, Thanjavur Bar Association, welcomed the gathering. S.Karunakaran, secretary, Thanjavur Bar Association, proposed the vote of thanks. Family members of Parthasarathy were present.
