Janata Dal (Secular) leader H.D. Revanna has claimed credit for his party for obtaining the approval of the Union Ministry of Agriculture to permit government veterinary colleges in Hassan, Shimoga and Bidar to admit students for this academic year.

“It is because of the former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda’s efforts that the colleges got permission to admit students this year,” he said at a press conference here on Thursday.

Reacting to Minister for Law and Animal Husbandry T.B. Jayachandra’s claim that it was because of his efforts that the colleges got permission, Mr. Revanna said, “If he could do it, then why was such a delay in getting the permission? Mr. Gowda spoke to Union Minister Sharad Pawar and succeeded in getting the permission.”
