H.D. Revanna, Janata Dal (Secular) leader and president of the Hassan Milk Union, has opposed the Karnataka Milk Federation’s proposal to increase milk price.
He said a decision on this should be made only after taking milk producers and consumers into confidence.
Mr. Revanna told presspersons here on Saturday that there had been a proposal to increase the milk price by Rs. 5 a litre, of which Rs. 3 would go to milk producers and the rest to the federation.
“I won’t oppose an increase in price if farmers will get the entire amount. The federation wants to make money in the name of farmers,” he charged.
