Hassan MP H.D. Deve Gowda on Wednesday said that he would stage a dharna outside Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s residence in Bangalore for “delaying completion of development work in Hassan district by not releasing funds”.
“I will wait for another 15 days. If there is no positive response from the State government, I will stage a protest,” he told presspersons here.
The Hassan-Bangalore railway line project has been hanging fire for the last 17 years. Railway Minister M. Mallikarjun Kharge has said that the State would lose the projects if it did not contribute its share of funds soon. “The Hassan-Bangalore railway line project is not on the State government’s priority list. Work on constructing a hi-tech hospital for the Hassan Institute of Medical Sciences and a building for the Government Veterinary College has been going on at a slow pace due to non-release of funds,” he said.
