Kolar Deputy Commissioner D.K. Ravi directed the authorities concerned not to obey any oral instructions from people’s representatives in connection with supply of foodgrains to hostels run by the Social Welfare Department and the Backward Classes Welfare Department.

“The Supreme Court has ruled that officers need not obey oral directions from politicians. Hence, if they had any requests, let them submit it in writing. Implement them if they are legal. Complain to me or to the chief executive officer of ZP if the politicians mount pressure on you,” Mr. Ravi said on Sunday.
