A tentative understanding is reported to have been reached between the Bhutanese delegation led by the Prime Minister of Bhutan, Mr. Jigme Dorji and the Government of India regarding aid to that country in road-building in New Delhi on September 9. On the basis of this understanding, work in connection with the first project, a road from Jaygaon in northern Bengal to Paro in western Bhutan is likely to begin next month. Prime Minister Dorji met the Union Home Minister, Pandit Pant and the Finance Minister Mr. Morarji Desai.
