A tribute to the work of the Ramakrishna Mission in alleviating human suffering at critical times was paid by Mr. M. Bhaktavatsalam, Home Minister, Madras, when he presided over the 124th birth anniversary celebrations of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa at the premises of the Math in Mylapore on March 15. Mr. Bhaktavatsalam said the birth of such great personalities was intended to bring about a religious renaissance in the minds of the people. Both Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa and his disciple Swami Vivekananda earned respect for Hindu religion in far off countries of the West.
