Mr. Nehru on December 28 re-stated his aversion for advertising and said, “If I am told too much about a thing, I react against it”. “I suppose it is an old habit of being a bit of a rebel,” he added, by way of explanation. Mr. Nehru was speaking at a conference of the New Education Fellowship when he referred to “the power of influencing minds by curious forms of advertisement and the like”. He said he did not react well to powerful advertising. “I am somehow conditioned against a thing being advertised or being told too often to do something”.
