The Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee has urged the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) to transfer some government officials in the Shimoga Assembly constituency for allegedly actively campaigning for BJP candidate K.S. Eshwarappa, Deputy Chief Minister, by misusing their official powers.
In a letter to the CEO, KPCC spokesperson K. Diwakara has alleged that Shimoga tahsildar Kotresh, Block Education Officer T.N. Kamalakara, in-charge Director of the Shimoga Institute of Medical Sciences Siddalingappa, members of teaching faculty in SIMS Tejus and Sridhar, and Assistant Director of Veterinary Sciences Kalappa had actively involved themselves in campaigning. He demanded that they be transferred to ensure free and fair polls.
